history of photography method of recording the image of an object through the action of light, or related radiation, on a light-sensitive material. The word, derived from the Greek photos and graphic was first used in the 1830s.

slr camera
This type of camera has a moveable mirror behind the lens which reflects an image through a five-sided prism or pair of mirrors, onto a glass screen. This means the photographer sees exactly the same image that will be exposed on the recording medium.
